RN/Labor/Delivery/Recovery/PostpartumRatios: 1: 1-3Years of experience REQ: 3 Years, Community Hospital Experience preferred.First-timers accepted: (Y/N) NoHoliday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit.Weekend REQ: Weekend Rotation: 4-6 weekend shifts (Sat/Sun) AND 2 Friday's per 6-week schedule.Holiday Requirements: 1 major holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas) and 1-2 minor holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, or Labor Day)Certs REQ: BLS, FHM, NRP. AWHONN Advanced AWHONN Intermediate preferred.Skills REQ: IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Administration of blood & blood products, Drawing Venous Blood, Start & maintain peripheral IV, Use of infusion pumps / drips / IV monitoring.

Labor and

Delivery Management: Amnioinfusion, Assist with vaginal delivery, Circulate for C-section, Forceps/vacuum extraction, Hemorrhage/shock, Recover C-Section, Sterile vaginal exam.

Work Settings: Antepartum, Community Level experience, Facility births/month <100, LDRP, Level I Nursery, Mother/Baby.

Medication & Administration: Antihypertensives, Magnesium Sulfate therapy, Pitocin (oxytocin), Prostaglandins, Terbutaline.

Neonatal Care in

Delivery Room: Collect cord samples, ID/Security Banding.

Newborn Care: Assist with Circumcision/Assess site post-op, Car Seat Education, Cord Care, Discharge teaching to parents, Infant Identification, Metabolic Screen, Newborn Assessment, Newborn hypoglycemia, Phototherapy, Teach Circumcision care to parents, Thermoregulation.

Antepartum Care and Procedures: NST (Non Stress Tests), Reflex checks / edema assessment / clonus, Sterile vaginal exam, Triage of obstetrical patients, Use of EFM (External Fetal Heart Monitoring).

Postpartum Care and Procedures: Baby friendly protocols, Breastfeeding Support/lactation support, Episiotomy/Incisional Care, Foley Catheter insertion, Fundus/lochia/perineum care, Use of Electric/Manual breast pump, Wound Assessment and Care. Postpartum Care of the

Patient with: Bladder Distension, Cesarean Section, Couplet Care, Multiple Births, Postpartum Hemorrhage, Pregnancy induced hypertension, Vaginal Delivery.

Surgical Case/Procedures: D & C, Tubal Ligation.
