General Information Unit Specifics: Number of Beds: 54; 11 beds on a busy and dedicated ortho/spine unit
Patient Ratios: 1:5-6 for RNs; 1:12-15 for PCTs; RN/LPN team would have 10 total. Each hall has 2-3 RNs/1 LPN (as staffing/census allows) and 1-2 PCTs. Unit staffing description: Unit secretaries until 8p during weekdays. Techs and Externs availability. RN/LPN teams.
Type of equipment: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, continuous pulse ox, specialty beds, transfer equipment, wound vacs, chest tubes, NG and feeding tubes, etc.
Documentation system: Meditech
Scheduling requirements: At least one weekend within 4-week period. (May be split up) blocked scheduling case by case basis.
Floating policy: Floating within unit s discretion.
Patient Experience requirements: At least 1 year of RN experience.
