State LicensureOn Call RequirementNo callSummary: ThisJobperformsallroutineandcomplicatedlaboratoryproceduresincludingspecimenprocessingandhandling,testingofpatientspecimens,calculating,andreportingofresults,performanceofqualitycontrolprocedures,operationandmaintenanceofinstrumentsandequipment,assistinginthedevelopmentofnewproceduresandprotocols,mayperformphlebotomyandotherpatient-orientedtasks,andmayperformotherrelateddutiesasrequestedordirected.Responsibilities:MeetsexpectationsoftheapplicableOneCHRISTUSCompetencies:LeaderofSelf,LeaderofOthers,orLeaderofLeaders.Performsallroutineandcomplicatedlaboratoryproceduresintheprimarysectiontowhichassignedaboutageorsexspecificvalues.Operates,maintains,andtroubleshootslaboratoryinstrumentationandequipmentandmakesminorrepairsasnecessaryornotifiesBio-medasneeded.Mustcross-traintootherlaboratorysectionsasneeded.Assuresthatthelaboratory'squalitycontrolprogramisproperlyfollowed.Calculates,enters,and/orverifiesresultsoflaboratoryprocedures.UtilizestheLaboratoryInformationSystem.Providesnotificationanddocumentationofcriticallaboratoryvaluesobtained.Processespatientspecimens,includingcollection,handling,anddistributionalwayscognizantofminimalpediatricspecimenvolumes(whenrequired).Participatesintheevaluation,development,andimplementationofneworupdatedtestingproceduresandprotocols.Demonstratescompetencetoperformassignedpatientcareresponsibilitiesinamannerthatmeetsthepopulation-specificanddevelopmentalneedsofpatientsservedbythedepartment.Appropriatelyadaptsassignedpatientassessment,treatment,and/orcaremethodstoaccommodatetheuniquephysical,psychosocial,cultural,agespecificandotherdevelopmentalneedsofeachpatientserved.DemonstratesadherencetotheCOREvaluesofCHRISTUSHealth.Mustcompleteallrequiredcomplianceandregulatorytasksandfollowallapplicablepoliciesandprocedures.Performsotherdutiesasassigned.JobRequirements:Education/SkillsBachelor sDegreeorhigherinachemical,physical,biologicalorclinicallaboratoryscienceormedicaltechnologyfromanaccreditedinstitutionorequivalentlaboratorytrainingandexperiencemeetingtherequirementsdefinedintheCLIAregulation42CFR493.1489(includesU.S.Militarylaboratorytrainingcoursesofatleast50weeks)OREducationthathasbeenevaluatedbyanacceptablecredentialingagencyanddeemedequivalenttoaUSBachelor sdegreeinachemical,physical,biologicalorclinicallaboratoryscienceormedicaltechnology.ExperienceNoexperiencerequiredforgraduatesofaclinicallaboratorytrainingprogramapprovedoraccreditedbyNAACLS,orotherorganizationsapprovedbyHHS.OROneyearofapprovedclinicallaboratoryexperience,whichmustincludeaclinicalrotationthroughthefollowingsectionsofthelaboratory:BloodBanking,Microbiology,Chemistry,andHematology,Immunology,andUrinalysis/BodyFluidsintheU.S.orwithanaccreditedlaboratorywithinthelast5years.Licenses,Registrations,orCertificationsMustpossessCertificationforMT,MLS,CLS,orMLTfromASCP,AMT,AAB,orHEW/HHSIfcertificationwithanexpirationdateisheld,thecertificationmustbemaintainedandkeptcurrentLouisianarequiresStateLicensureWorkSchedule:7PM-7AMWorkType:FullTime
