Description: SHIFT: 5 DAYS, 8 HR/DAYSummary:Plan,implementandevaluatepatientcareprogramsdesignedtoassistdisabledpatientsregainphysicalandsocialstabilityandrelearndailylivingactivitiesthroughtheutilizationofselectedoccupationaltherapyprocedures.Thisdescriptionisnotintendedtobeacompletelistofduties.Otherrelateddutiesmaybeassigned.Responsibilities:Demonstratesknowledgeandskillsnecessarytoprovideservicesbasedonthephysical,psychosocial,educational,safety,andotherrelatedcriteriaappropriatepopulationinhis/herassignedareaMaintainsrequiredcorecompetencies.ComplieswithsetPoliciesandProcedures(i.e.nametag,dresscode,parking,smoking,etc.)Plan,organizeandparticipateinmedicallyorientatedoccupationaltherapyprogramstoincludeevaluatingextentofabilitiesandlimitationsandassistingpatientregaincoordinationthroughtheutilizationofselectedoccupationaltherapyprocedures;determineactivityassignmentstoobtainatherapeuticgoal.AssistclientsinperformingactivitiesofalltypesUsephysicalexercisestohelppatientsincreasestrengthanddexterityUseactivitiestohelppatientsimprovevisualacuityandtheabilitytodiscernpatternsUsecomputerprogramstohelpclientsimprovedecision-making,abstract-reasoning,problem-solvingmemory,sequencing,coordination,andperceptualskills.DesignormakespecialequipmentneededathomeoratworkDevelopcomputer-aidedadaptiveequipmentandteachclientswithseverelimitationshowtousethatequipmentinordertocommunicatebetterandcontrolvariousaspectsoftheirenvironment.OccupationalTherapistsmayworkwithparticularpopulations,i.e.children,theelderly,ormayworkinspecializedsettings,i.e.mentalhealth.Observeandevaluatepatient'sprogress;designtreatmentplansandrecommendprogramssuitedtoindividualpotentialandrehabilitativeneeds.Coordinateoccupationaltherapywithothertherapeuticactivitiesaccordingtopatient'sneeds,capabilities,interestsandtreatmentgoalsandobjectives.Participateinwardrounds,patientcareconferences,consultationsandeducationalprogramsdesignedtoimprovepatientcareandstaffperformance;recommendnewoccupationaltherapymethodsandtechniques.Prepareandmaintainavarietyofrecordsandfilesindicatingpatientprogress,careplansandrelatedstatisticaldataasrequiredbydepartmentalandhospitalpolicies.Requirements:EducationBachelor'sdegreeinOccupationalTherapyExperiencePerformsrelatedresponsibilitiesasassigned.Licenses,Registrations,orCertificationsLicensure:NewMexicolicensureasanOccupationalTherapistCurrentAmericanHeart BasicLifeSupport(BLS)card.WorkSchedule:5Days-8HoursWorkType:FullTime General Comments Position creation reason:Vacant
