Hour Guarantee Description: GENERAL SUMMARYA Phlebotomist at MyMichigan Health - Alpena ensures a patient is comfortable while collecting a quality specimen that provides accurate results to assist the provider in the patient's diagnosis and treatment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(10%)* Greets the public in a professional, cheerful manner.(15%)* Answers telephone and directs inquires to appropriate persons.(20%)* Draws blood properly with minimum discomfort and rarely misses a vein on a patient.(15%)* Positively identifies and labels specimens by following patient and specimen identification policies.Uses the computer to register and accession specimens.(15%)* Knows various needles, anticoagulants, special handling, and preparation of tests that are performed.(5%)* Assists with inventory and putting away supplies.(5%)* Assists with specimen processing.(15%)* Performs other related miscellaneous duties
