NYU Suffolk Hospital is seeking a skilled Travel Histology Technologist to join its Laboratory team. Under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, the Histology Technologist performs slide-based histological testing, tissue preparation, staining, and quality assurance procedures in accordance with established laboratory protocols and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations.This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented laboratory professional who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care through accurate and timely histological testing.Histology

Technologist Laboratory: **Location:** NYU Suffolk Hospital, 101 Hospital Rd, Patchogue, NY 11772**Schedule:** Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (No Weekends)**Assignment Length:** 13

WeeksKey Responsibilities: * Prepare the grossing area and gross biopsy specimens.* Embed, section (cut), and stain tissue specimens for histological examination.* Prepare tissue specimens for routine and specialized histological procedures while ensuring laboratory quality standards are met.* Perform routine staining techniques and assist with special staining procedures as needed.* Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipment and instruments.* Perform quality assurance activities related to histological testing and procedures.* Maintain laboratory documentation and records in compliance with New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) regulations.* Adhere to established laboratory policies, safety standards, and approved protocols.* Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Required:* Current **New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) Technologist License**.* Experience performing histological procedures, including embedding, microtomy, staining, and tissue preparation.* Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance practices and regulatory requirements.* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment.Schedule:* Monday Friday* 8:00 AM 4:30 PM* No weekendsIf you are a licensed Histology Technologist looking to join a respected healthcare organization dedicated to excellence in laboratory services, we encourage you to apply for this 13-week travel assignment at NYU Suffolk Hospital.
