--- Med/Surg --- 3x12s EOW/EOH D/N Rotating shift

Patient Age group: Adults/Geriatrics; occasional pediatric patients possible

Number of Beds: 50 hospital-wide; exact Med/Surg unit beds

TBD Ratios: Approximately 1:4 1:6 RN:patient, dependent on census/acuity

Minimum Experience: 1 2 years acute-care Med/Surg preferred Ventilators: Basic ventilator monitoring/management may be encountered; higher acuity may require transfer

Drips/Machine experience: IV pumps, telemetry, central/PICC lines, blood products, oxygen, drains; insulin/heparin/cardiac drips preferred

Common Diagnosis: CHF, COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, diabetes, AKI/CKD, infections, electrolyte disorders, GI/GU, post-op, falls, weakness/deconditioning, general medical

Required Certs: BLS; ACLS preferred/required depending on assignment Technology: EHR, telemetry, smart IV pumps, bedside monitors, automated medication systems

Epic experience: Preferred; exact EHR TBD Float/on-call requirements: May float to appropriate inpatient areas; on-call

TBD Orientation Frequency: Weekly

RTO/shift/scheduling restrictions: 12-hour shifts; weekends/holidays may be required; RTO required at time of submission*** Avera has a 2 shift cancellation policy for a 13 week contract.
