Description Summary: The scope of work for a Respiratory Therapist includes assessment, therapeutic intervention, and education for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders or associated complications.Job Duties/Procedures: Respiratory Therapy assessments/protocols, arterial punctures and blood gas analysis, ventilator and NIV therapy management, medication delivery, airway clearance, assist with intubations, assist with bedside trach placement, assist with bedside bronchoscopy, tracheostomy changes and decannulation, extubations, emergency response teams, ICU rounds, patient intrahospital transport.Equipment utilized in the unit/dept:Epic EMR, Omnicell medication cabinet, Hamilton G5 & C1, V60, Airvo, Philips CoughAssist, Synclara Cough Device, Volara, Vest, ResMed AutoPAPs, Radiometer ABL90 Flex, Aerogen, Nitric Oxide, 3100B HFOV, B Braun Syringe Pump, Patient Home Vents (Trilogy, Astral, Vivo) and Zebra mobile phones. List is subject to change.Required skills and minimum years of experience: Two years of minimum experience. If applicable, would be interested in an RT work in Adult/NICU or Adult/PICU rotation.Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required:ND license (NDSBRC) required.BLS - AHA required. ACLS - AHA and PALS - AHA preferredShift or schedule requirements:Rotating shifts, every other weekend, holidays with 8- & 12-hour shifts, 12-hour primarily. Will consider weekend or straight night status.Will not work alone, each shift has a charge in adult and children's along with 6-14 other RTs on a typical shift at our SMCF campus. BDWY campus has a charge and 2-4 therapist scheduled per shift. One therapist per shift at SU campus. Opportunity to pick up extra shifts. Floating to other units/departments:May float to other Fargo campuses as needed: Broadway or South University.Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept:RT creates assignments with a minute-based system that pulls from our Epic EMR.

SMCF campus: 394+ beds (48 beds Adult ICU, 16 beds intermediate Adult ICU, 189 beds adult GF, 47 beds ER, 40 bed level IV NICU, 8 bed Peds ICU, 24 beds Peds, 69 beds Family Birth Center, plus OR/PACU).BDWY Campus: 122+ beds (104 Med Surg/Adult GF, 18 ICU plus OR/PACU)SU Campus: 55+ inpatient beds (14 Ortho, 21 Rehab, 20 Psych plus OR/PACU)Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program:Orientees complete lab orientation with RT education staff and preceptor shifts with the unit RTs.Additional Comments:Looking for a motivated individual who can work independently as well as within a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage quick changes in patient condition, willing to help coworkers and asking for help when needed. Communication skills are invaluable as we are in constant communication with the healthcare team.- All clinicians must badge in and out at facility- Scrub Color: Steel Gray*MUST note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health.
