PM Description: Surgical Oncology MS RN - Days - Deaconess Gateway **Clinical Interview** NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE)Contract Length: 13 weeksStart: 11/2 - Bi-weekly orientation(will accept 48s upon request)*OT will go into effect after 52hrs on 48hr contractsPrimary location: GatewayShift Requirement: 12hr Days 6:30-7Float Requirement: First to float with skillset. Deaconess Midtown (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float. Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible.

Experience

REQUIRED: Two years of strong Med/Surg, 1 travel assignment, trauma level II experience.Charting Experience: Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class)Patient Population: Complex Med/Surg. and oncology population with crossover of both (GI, GU, General). Skillset: PIV insertion, chest tube/indwelling drain management, CBI, stables drips (heparin, lasix, protonix), epidural management, PEGs/NGs, ostomy care, post Whipple (24-28 hour postop) Neutropenic precautions. Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills!Unit Information (Bed size, Case type, Patient ratio): 32 beds. Ratio: Days 1-4:5; NOCs 1:5-7; CN rarely takes patients on days, but takes an assignment on NOC shift.Unit Strengths: Excellent retention and experience on unit. Manager has been over the unit for 15+ years and has built a strong team! Seeking contracts due to upcoming FMLA for multiple staff.
