SA needed - need to be able to assist all service lines including total joints and be willing to scrub as needed!General Summary/Responsibilities:The Surgical Assistant (SA) will be responsible for the direct and indirect care of patients based on established standards. The SA will collaborate with the surgeon in performing an operative procedure in a safe manner with optimal outcomes for the patient whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised. The SA provides assistance to other health care providers such as Registered Nurses, anesthesia staff, surgeons and other professionals. Additionally, the Surgical Assistant provides orient/training to new team members, participates in very complex cases, and actively participates in PI projects. SA works under the license and direct supervision of the surgeon. The SA will be responsible for knowledge and implementation of the mission, vision and values of Premier Health Partners. Education Required: Diploma Program - Surgical Assistant program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA)Additional requirements:EPIC- Type of degree: N/A- Area of study or major: Surgical Assistant-Preferred educational qualifications: Associates Degree in the field of Surgical Technology; Military Training; 5 or more years of experience without a degree.-Position specific testing requirement: N/ALicensure/Certification/Registration- Current CPR is requiredOther Requirements: Traveler must be available to work every other holiday. Premier Health reserves the right to cancel 2 shifts due to low census per 13-week contract. Premier Health reserves the right to cancel the agreement with 2 weeks' notice without fee or fine. Travelers are not eligible for Premier health employee incentives.RTORequest RTO with initial submittal; NO RTO will be added after the offer. RTO approval will be at the Manager's discretion. Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report, and other certs are not needed if listed on the application
